How to Connect from Linux to Mac with Iperius Remote

Supported Linux distributions

Iperius Remote for Linux can be used on various distributions, including:

For Debian-based distributions, such as Ubuntu and Linux Mint, you need to download the package .deb. For other distributions, such as Red Hat, Fedora, CentOS, and openSUSE, the package is available instead .rpm.

Download on Iperius Remote for Linux

To get started, go to the official Iperius Remote website and open the download page .

In the Operating Systems section, select Linux .

Since we’re using Ubuntu in this tutorial, we’ll download the package .deb. If you’re using another compatible Linux distribution, choose the package that best suits your system, such as .rpm.

Once the download is complete, open the folder where the file was saved.

Installing Iperius Remote on Ubuntu

After downloading the package .deb, open the terminal in the folder where the file is located .

Then go back to the Iperius Remote download page and copy the installation commands for the package .deb(sudo apt install ./iperius-remote-desktop-2_0_3-amd64.deb) or .rpm (sudo dnf install ./iperius-remote-desktop-2_0_3-x86_64.rpm).

Paste the commands into the terminal and press Enter .

The system may prompt you for your device password. Enter the password and press Enter again .

Once you confirm the correct password, the Iperius Remote installation will be completed on your Linux device.

Once the installation is complete, find Iperius Remote among the installed applications and launch it.

How to connect from Linux to Mac with Iperius Remote

After opening Iperius Remote on your Linux computer, you can start a new remote connection.

With Iperius Remote for Linux you can control different types of devices, including:

• Linux
• Windows
• macOS
• Android
• iOS

In this example we will see how to connect from Linux to a Mac.

To start the connection, enter the ID and password of the Mac device you want to control remotely.

After entering the required data, click on “Connect Now” .

The remote connection will start and you will be able to control your Mac directly from your Linux computer.
